STEP Importer

The STEP importer includes various format-specific settings.

Format Specific Setup

SettingDescription
Load Structure OnlyOnly With a value of TRUE, read and return only the tree of the assembly in a model file. [default: false]
Prefer Product NameThe name of the occurrence is the one defined by PRODUCT. Otherwise it is the one defined by NEXT_ASSEMBLY_USAGE_OCCURRENCE. [default: true]
Occurrence Name RuleIn case of prefering product name is unchecked, indicate which name to use from NEXT_ASSEMBLY_USAGE_OCCURRENCE

Prefer First ColorIn case a geometry has several colors, prefer the first one. [default: false]
Code Page NameThe code page to use to convert text to Unicode. These values follow the format used by the libiconv GNU Package. For example, "EUC-JP" for Japanese files. [default: none]
Split Open ShellsSplit open shells into several bodies. [default: true]
Heal OrientationsActivate orientation healing on the modelfile. Reading time will be longer. [default: false]

Format Specific Validation Setup

SettingDescription
Read Validation PropertiesRead validation properties from the file. Only available with AP242. If this parameter is not checked then the rest of the properties are disabled. [default: true]
Compute Validation PropertiesThis will compute validation properties and compare them with the ones read from de the file. Only available with AP242. [default: true]
Add Result To NameKeywords OK or FAIL will be added to the name of the item that has validation properties. [default: false]
Validation Properties ThresholdSet the precision to use for validation properties comparison. If user selects to setup threshold values, the rest of the widgets in this section are enabled. [default: false]
Volume (%)Threshold for volume of solids comparison. [range: 0.001 to 100, default: 90.0]
Surface Area (%)Threshold for surface of solids comparison. [range: 0.001 to 100, default: 90.0]
Independent Surface Area (%)Threshold for surface of surfaces comparison. [range: 0.001 to 100, default: 90.0]
Independent Curve Length (%)Threshold for length of curves comparison. [range: 0.001 to 100, default: 90.0]
Deviation Centroid (mm)Threshold for centroid of solids comparison. [default: 1.0]
Independent Deviation Surface Centroid (mm)Threshold for centroid of surfaces comparison. [default: 1.0]
Independent Deviation Curve Centroid (mm)Threshold for centroid of curves comparison. [default: 1.0]
Independent Deviation Point Set Centroid (mm)Threshold for centroid of points set comparison. [default: 1.0]
Deviation Bounding Box (mm)Threshold for bounding box of any geometry comparison. [default: 1.0]
Total Affected Area (%)Total area of the faces or surfaces the PMI is attached to, comparison threshold. [range: 0.001 to 100, default: 90.0]
Total Affected Curve Length (%)Total curve length of the edges or curves the PMI is attached to, comparison threshold. [range: 0.001 to 100, default: 90.0]
Total Curve Length (%)Total length of the PMI wireframe part comparison threshold. [range: 0.001 to 100, default: 90.0]
Total Surface Area (%)Total surface of the PMI tessellated part comparison threshold. [range: 0.001 to 100, default: 90.0]
